Property Fraud Alert is a free recording notification service that will alert subscribers when a deed,
mortgage, or other document conveying real property, has been recorded with the registered name in
the Okeechobee County Clerk of Circuit Court’s Official Records Office.

When a land record is recorded in Okeechobee County, with a registered identity, an email will be sent
within 24 hours of the document being recorded to notify the registrant that a land record was filed.

You may repeat the registration process multiple times if needed for monitoring more than one personal,
business, or parcel identification numbers. You may also repeat this registration process for additional
variations of a personal/business name or to register multiple email addresses to receive alert
notifications.

You may un-subscribe to Property Fraud Alerts at any time by following the steps in blue to the right under
Property Fraud Alert Unregister.

If you receive an Alert Email:

  • If a document has been recorded that matches the Personal/Business name, or Parcel
    Identification Number you registered. You will receive an email from Property Fraud Alert
    (propertyalert@myokeeclerk.com).
  • The Alert email will provide you with the date and instrument number assigned to the recorded
    land record.
  • You can search the instrument number on our Official Records Search website at

If you suspect you are a victim of fraud, contact the law enforcement agency in the jurisdiction where
the property is located. If you are disputing a lien that has been recorded against your property, contact
the lien filer directly.

Any email address subscribed to this service may be deemed a public record under Florida Law and are subject to public record
request. There is no right or cause of action against, and no civil liability on the part of, the clerk with respect to the creation,
maintenance, or operation of a recording notification service as required by this section. Under Florida Statute 28.47 (5) "Nothing
may be construed to require the clerk to provide or allow access to a record or information which is confidential and exempt from
s. 119.07(1) and s. 24(a), Art. I of the State Constitution or to otherwise violate these public record laws of this state.
